چکیده
The one-dimensional (1D) range profile is an important back scattering characteristic of objectives, which reveals the longitudinal distribution radar cross section (RCS) along detection beam. Since shape and posture can be reflected by 1D profile, it great significance in military to determine target orientation, velocity whether armed. In this paper, broadband terahertz 1D-range-profile measurement was enable based on time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) system. It bistatic configuration (bistatic angle 9°) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) 34.5 dB using a gold mirror as reflector. Benefiting from ultrashort pulse width (full 0.52 ps), bandwidth covered frequency 0.1 THz 2.5 (peaked at 0.9 THz), corresponding resolution submillimeter scale. Firstly, profiles several objects different shapes were measured, including step, cylinder, step cone their combinations, indicated that geometric targets direction adequate identify features proved reliability measuring system TDS. Secondly, aluminum plates with surface roughness 0~25 μm also characterized. Kirchhoff approximation theory small perturbation method (SPM) introduced illustrate characteristics related targets. found metal sensitive roughness. If object larger, peak intensity would weaker echo signal becomes wider. rule applicable for cases incident angles. Furthermore, revealed time delay systems rotation target, useful estimating target. summary, relating shape, are studied. conclusions should helpful identification radar.

Wide Range Broadband Terahertz Emission From High χ Dendrimer
Electro-optic dendrimer was used to generate CW terahertz radiation via difference frequency method. In case of electro-optic excitation, the pump-THz conversion is not limited either by emission saturation or by heat dissipation. Especially, the difference frequency generation (DFG) uses two-photon excitation that eliminates the use of a femtosecond pulsed laser and allows for producing both c...

We show that spoof surface plasmons can be used to control the reflection of terahertz radiation at the output facet of a parallel-plate waveguide. Using a periodic groove pattern on the output face, reflectivity approaching 100% can be achieved within a limited spectral range. Unlike the conventional geometry for plasmon-enhanced transmission, this approach enables a unique method for studying...
متن کاملFast one-dimensional photonic crystal modulators for the terahertz range.
Optically controlled one-dimensional photonic crystal structures for the THz range are studied both theoretically and experimentally. A GaAs:Cr layer constitutes a defect in the photonic crystals studied; its photoexcitation by 800 nm optical femtosecond pulses leads to the modulation of the THz beam. Since the THz field can be localized in the photoexcited layer of the photonic crystal, the in...

15 صفحه اولDispersion of surface plasmon polaritons on metal wires in the terahertz frequency range.
We report the experimental and theoretical study of the dispersive behavior of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) on cylindrical metal surfaces in the terahertz frequency range. Time-domain measurements of terahertz SPPs propagating on metal wires reveal a unique structure that is inconsistent with a simple extrapolation of the high frequency portion of the dispersion diagram for SPPs on a plana...
